Top 5 Fun Things Sober People Can Do in Chicago!

Just because you are sober doesn’t mean you have to be bored! Below are 5 fun things you can do in Chicago that don’t involve substance use…

#1: Hit the Zoo!

The Lincoln Park Zoo is a fantastic place to visit on a beautiful, Chicago day. Not only are there a large array of different animals from around the world you can check out, but there is also a stunning flower garden outside (during the spring and summer). The best part? The entire thing is free!

#2: Street Festivals

In the spring, summer, and even fall, Chicago comes to life. Just about every weekend there is a different festival you can check out. This includes everything from taco and burger festivals to bigger events like the Taste of Chicago. Grab a buddy that doesn’t drink and grab a bite at these fun festivals!

#3: Catch an IMAX Movie at Navy Pier

If you haven’t seen a movie in IMAX, you are missing out! The giant screen and booming sound system are something to behold. Catch the latest big blockbuster movie, ride the Ferris wheel, grab a bite to eat, and watch the fireworks at Navy Pier!

#4: Hit the Arcade

While there are some arcades in the city that are built around drinking (“barcades”), there are others that are geared toward people that simply love to play fun games. The arcade is a great way to have a blast with friends without the use of a substance.

#5: Go Axe Throwing

Yes, axe throwing is a thing…and it’s a ton of fun! There are a few different axe-throwing establishments in the city, and they are surprisingly affordable. Drinking and throwing axes don’t seem like a good mix anyway…

Bring a sober friend or two and see if you can throw an axe and hit the bullseye!
