New Year, New Opportunities: Start the New Year Right

It’s the new year! This is a great time to explore new opportunities and start your new year off on the right track. This may include considering options for recovery.

Below are some tips for getting started on your recovery journey, along with an effective solution you may not have considered…

Set Realistic Goals

The first step to starting off your new year right and making sure you stick to your recovery resolution is to set realistic goals. So, instead of your goal being quitting everything all at once with no support, you may have a goal of starting your action plan and taking your first step toward recovery. This feels a lot less overwhelming and is much more attainable.

Create an Action Plan

Your action plan should include a beginning, middle, and end. Once you have your action plan in place, focus on just the first step and get the ball rolling.

So, your main goal may be to stop drinking alcohol. Your first step may be to research solutions that are right for you. You can then complete other, subsequent steps that may include enrolling in a recovery program, making changes in your life to enhance your sobriety, and so on. But instead of focusing on that all at once, focus on the first step and go from there.

An excellent example of a first step is reaching out to Front Door Health for support. We’ll help you to put together a plan of action to help you to reach your recovery goals and we will be there every step of the way to provide you with the support you need.

Research the Best Course of Action

Recovery is not the same for everyone. As this is the case, you’ll want to consider what options are available to help with your recovery. You may be considering a 12-step program, inpatient treatment, or outpatient treatment. There is another option, though, that provides you with a higher level of care that is customized to meet your needs—in-home treatment.

In-home treatment allows you to get the support you need from the comfort of your own home. Instead of going to the experts, the experts come to you! This makes the process that much easier, without sacrificing any quality of care.
