Barriers to Treatment People Often Face

It can be very difficult for people to get the help they need. While help is always available, there are certain barriers that those suffering from addiction often face. These can prevent them from getting the treatment they need and deserve.

Below are some of the main barriers that we find those suffering from addiction face that stand in the way of them getting treatment.

Some of the Barriers to Treatment People Often Face

Before considering the barriers to treatment people often face, it’s first important to understand that all of these barriers can be overcome. There is a life of happiness, health, and sobriety waiting for you. You simply need to take the first step—reaching out to Front Door Health. Once you do, we’ll ensure you get the treatment you need.

Stigma

Drug and alcohol addiction contributes to tens of thousands of deaths each year. What makes this even more tragic is many of the people that die from these addictions don’t seek the help they need due to the stigma that comes with addiction.

We want you to know that there is nothing wrong with you, or with seeking help. You have a medical health condition, and Front Door Health provides treatment for the disease of addiction. Like with any other disease, you should get the treatment you need and deserve. We don’t judge, and we treat you with the respect you deserve.

Denial

A lot of people that have a problem with drinking and/or using either don’t think they have a problem or actively ignore it. It can be extremely difficult to admit to having a problem with the use of a substance. It’s okay to admit you need help, and it’s important to acknowledge this before the disease gets any worse.

Our experts will meet with you to see if you are suffering from the disease of addiction. If it’s determined that you are, we can put together a treatment plan to help you. If you suspect you may be addicted to a substance, reach out. We’ll take an objective look at your situation and see how we can best help.

Managing a Traditional Treatment Schedule

Something that often gets in the way of a lot of patients getting the help they need is the inability to manage a traditional treatment schedule. Many people can’t put their lives on hold to stay at a facility for an extended period of time with limited contact with the outside world. Front Door Health understands this concern—which is why we offer in-home treatment.

In-Home Treatment

In-home treatment is a form of care that involves the patient receiving the help they need from the comfort of their own home. Our specialists will come to you to provide you with the support you need to overcome your addiction and begin a life of happiness and sobriety.
