Sober Spring: Fun Spring Activities in Chicago!

Springtime in Chicago is the perfect time to get out of the house, meet up with some friends, and have a ton of (sober) fun!

If you aren’t used to having fun sober (or you haven’t tried), you may be wondering what you can even do without a drink in hand. It turns out, Chicago is the perfect place for some sober fun—especially during the spring!

Here are five fun sober activities in Chicago that you can enjoy this spring:

#1: Hit the Beach!

While it’s going to be a bit cold for swimming, there are a ton of fun activities on and by the beach. Catch some sun, get a nice tan, and play a fun game of beach volleyball! There are also fun boat tours. Learn more about your city while soaking up some warm rays!

#2: Check Out Some New Restaurants

As it warms up, you’ll see more and more tables and chairs outside of the best restaurants in the city. Grab yourself an outdoor seat, order an alcohol-free drink, and enjoy a delicious meal with your besties!

Who doesn’t love brunch? You can have avocado toast, eggs benedict, and pancakes with orange juice on the side (no champagne needed)!

Is there a new restaurant you’ve been wanting to try out? There’s no better time than now!

#3: The Lincoln Park Zoo

Are you an animal lover? Then Lincoln Park Zoo is the place to be! During the spring the animals are out, the flowers outside of the zoo are blooming, and the weather is fantastic. If you haven’t been to the Lincoln Park Zoo, there are two things you need to know:

1. There are a TON of exhibits.

2. It is FREE.

Schedule a trip to see your favorite animals!

#4: Try Out Archery

Did you know there is a FREE archery range by the lake? Well, now you do! While you may need to pick up your own bow and target, you can make use of the range during their open hours. It’s a fun activity and—even if you purchase your own bow and arrows—very low cost!

#5: Check Out a Museum

It’s no secret that Chicago is home to some of the best museums in the world…you may have simply forgotten. So, here is your reminder! Some of the best museums to visit include:

·      The Museum of Science and Industry

·      The Museum of Contemporary Art

·      The Field Museum

·      Adler Planetarium

And there are so many more small museums and exhibits throughout the city!

Have a blast exploring the city you love and enjoy these 5 sober activities for spring fun in the city of Chicago!
